Metrorail
Ballston-MU is Ballston’s metro station, served by WMATA’s Orange and Silver Lines. Enjoy direct outbound service to Vienna and Dulles, and inbound service through Arlington, downtown Washington, D.C., and beyond.


ART Bus Routes
Multiple ART bus routes connect Ballston to neighborhoods across Arlington, providing quick, reliable, and affordable local transit options.


Metrobus Routes
WMATA’s Metrobus network links Ballston to destinations across Arlington, Alexandria, and the greater D.C. area — giving you even more ways to get where you’re going.


Biking & Micro-Mobility

Car Sharing

Ballston residents and visitors can access two Arlington County car-share options:

  • Reserved-Space Car-Share – Operated by Zipcar, with vehicles available in designated parking spots throughout the neighborhood.

  • Free-Floating Car-Share – Operated by Free2Move, allowing you to pick up and drop off vehicles in different non-designated locations across Arlington and D.C. Free2Move cars can park for free in metered spaces and Residential Permit Parking (RPP) zones without a permit.

Ballston has several parking garages and hourly street parking throughout the neighborhood.

The Ballston Public Garage offers $1 parking for 3 hours or less at 627 N Glebe Rd.
